The successful delivery of the first three stages (Grande Partenza) of the Giro d’Italia 2026 in Bulgaria once again demonstrated the country’s professional expertise, operational capacity and strong partnerships required to host world-class international events.
We are particularly proud that Liberty Bulgaria, an active member of the Bulgarian Convention Bureau, played a key role in this remarkable achievement.
Appointed as the Primary Partner in Bulgaria by Frigerio Viaggi S.r.l., the official accommodation agency of RCS Sport S.p.A., organiser of the Giro d’Italia, Liberty Bulgaria coordinated all essential local services required for the successful delivery of the Bulgarian stages of one of the world’s most prestigious cycling events.
The project included comprehensive coordination of hotel accommodation, airport assistance, local transportation, catering, operational logistics, as well as close cooperation with municipalities, government institutions, the Ministry of Interior, police and border authorities. Liberty Bulgaria also coordinated services for VIP guests, media representatives and professional cycling teams, ensuring the smooth delivery of every stage.
The operation involved more than 30 hotels, over 2,000 participants, 23 professional teams, and logistics across Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv and several other locations along the route.
Broadcast to hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide, the Giro d’Italia Grande Partenza provided an exceptional opportunity to showcase Bulgaria’s diverse landscapes, cultural heritage and capability to host major international events.
