On the 2nd September, representatives of the hotel and events industry will gather in the Bulgarian sea resort Albena for the launch of MICE OPEN – an initiative created from and to the meetings industry. During the next five days, professional event organisers will challenge their skills, creative minds, and sports abilities in various categories. Tennis is set as a leading sport, where the daily program includes beach volley, jogging, and various family games.
MICE OPEN is an initiative that aims to launch the autumn-winter events calendar and announce that Bulgaria is open for events. Also, through its format, it will emphasize the responsibility and creativity of the industry experts to work and act in extraordinary conditions and circumstances.
Team Bulgarian Convention Bureau
In different games and activities, the Bulgarian Convention Bureau will be presented by:
Martina – Marketing and Sales Director at Metropolitan Hotel Sofia. Hotelier by recognition, she has been actively competing on the hospitality arena during the last 13 years; marketing addict, in modern times running on the court of digital marketing; above all – a devoted “Montessori” mom, looking for energy to play set after set; in her free time – sea, sand & sport, as well as being passionate traveler, anywhere at any time.
Victoria and Dimitar – Both in the tourism and events sector since 1999. Founders and managers of Travel Management Ltd. together with their colleague Ventsislav Moskovski, a company focused on business events and corporate travelers, operating successfully on the market for more than 11 years now. Vicky loves reading, even writing poetry, as well as traveling and finding interesting destinations. Mitko is a big fan of motorsports, and of course, loves to read and travel as well.
Stela – Business Development Director at Sofia Hotel Balkan. After nearly 20 years in the industry, she likes all about the nature of her work, communicating with her team and customers. She loves spending time with her family and friends, enjoys traveling, and being at the sea. Sports activities are an integral part of her daily life, practicing kango, yoga, and skiing. Tennis is her unfulfilled dream, which she will meet in the forthcoming coming days.
Emil – He has participated in the organisation of many cultural events – concerts, exhibitions, DJ parties, as well as the festivals like Sofia Dance Week, Sofia Design Week, Sofia Architecture Week, Mellow Music Festival, and Sofia Contemporary, as well as conferences and congresses, the most important of which is the 43 Congress of the International Transport Workers’ Federation in 2014. At the end of 2017, he took the challenge to support the development and promotion of the Bulgarian Convention. Bureau, becoming its administrative secretary. He has been actively involved in mountain biking since 1999, recognising as his own mission the development of this sport in the country. Long-term participant in amateur competitions, founder and main organier of one of the most challenging competitions Velorally Cherni Vrah, which has been held every fall since 2004.
Teodora – For almost 20 years now, she believes that events are the most successful platform for business development, networking, and knowledge exchange. Since 2017, Teodora is determined to attract and organise international events in Bulgaria, including TCI European Conference 2018, the national cluster conference in 2019, and the Black Sea & Balkans Conference World Summit 2020. In December 2019 she became the CEO of the Bulgarian Convention Bureau. In her free time, she is planning and organising the activities of her 3 children, adores traveling, and to watch the sunrise. At the age of six, she took the tennis racket in her hands for the first time and since then playing and watching tennis whenever possible.
The Bulgarian Convention Bureau team will meet and compete with professionals from various industries, such as lawyers, marketing and IT specialists, architects, representing companies like HotelExperts, JBoxers, CTO & Co, Scale Focus, National Grain Producers Association, and Design Studio M.
The program of all sports and thematic discussions has been developed in accordance with all existing recommendations and requirements for hygiene, disinfection, and observance of social distance.
MICE OPEN 2020 is a joint initiative of the Bulgarian Convention Bureau, Consulting Cluster Veritas, Association BIONet, and Albena resort.
